I know you’re dying to hear it. I was flabbergasted to find that Polynesia has its very own UNESCO World Heritage site as of 2017. Why? Because “they” decided. Phew! Took a while. It’s in Raiatea. Ready?
It is a marae. That is a place where the world of the living intersects the world of the ancestors and the gods.
