On the Ramparts
To protect the Bay of Saint Malo, 4 Sea Forts were built in the 17th Century (1600s).
Only two of them can be reached at low tide. There is also a swimming pool with a diving board. When the tide is completely out, much farther than this, the pool of water remains and you can walk to the two forts. The pool was built in 1930 when this beach became a popular resort area.
The architecture of the “Quebec House” on the point is influenced by a military style: straight, uniform, and severe. This is also an excellent view of how high the tide rises. It will rise up to 12 meters which is about 40 feet in just 6 hours.
