Statue of children in a park beside St. Mary’s Basilica. There is an open space where you can join them. Compare this statue with the one below.
Statue of children dancing in Stalingrad. This photo was taken in 1942 after the Nazi bombing. It was one of the bloodiest battles in history. Two million civilians and soldiers died in one battle. Note the “playful crocodile” in the center. This image looks like something out of a Stephen King novel. King defined horror as normal, everyday life suddenly gone horribly wrong. That is what this photo reminds me of. And maybe children dancing in a circle is a common theme for statues of children.
