The lady at the front desk had no idea what she was doing so I had to wait an insufferably long time to check in. Meanwhile, Tosca and her “guardian”, they don’t call them owners here, that would be too racist, came in and stood behind me. Before I could even get the question out of my mouth Tosca’s guardian said, “No, I’d never seen Tosca. I just liked the name. Later, I finally saw it.” Tosca is 17, lives in Eugene, Oregon, and was in San Francisco to visit her brother.
Pacifica is also the beginning of a 657 mile stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway that is stunning and may also induce vomiting, so take care.
