Eureka! There’s Gold and Pot in Them Thar Hills

We survived the night in Williams, and in the morning, fled north.
Eureka, California is the beginning of Redwoods country. It is called Eureka because of the goldrush in the 1850s. Eureka is the motto of California. It means, “I’ve found it!” You can also buy some weed and coffee on your way up to see the trees. Far out man.
Trinidad
Trinidad is Spanish for ‘trinity’. It was discovered on Trinity Sunday by Spanish explorers and thus the appellation. I thought it had something to do with the Caribbean island, but no.

We are at Trinidad State Beach Visitors Center.

Copious amounts of driftwood. It’s so unlike the Atlantic.
