Schindler’s Factory, Krakow, Poland

Oskar Schindler’s factory is in Krakow. More than 1,000 Jews escaped certain death at Auschwitz by working for Mr. Schindler. Steven Spielberg made a movie about his heroic efforts called, “Schindler’s List”.

Photos of people he saved are in the windows of the former factory. He used most of his fortune to save Jewish lives. They, in return, helped him when he needed assistance after the war. In 1993, Yad Vashem awarded Oskar and Emilie Schindler the title “Righteous Among the Nations” in recognition of their efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust at great personal risk.
