Our Neighborhood in Galveston
We stayed in a home and had a kitchen and bedroom. There was actually a couch in the kitchen, so Maureen slept there. It was an odd house. It was narrow and deep, like a shotgun, I guess. The ceilings were high, maybe 12 feet and the hall outside our rooms was dark. But, there was a small bookcase at the end of the hall and I found, “Of Mice and Men” by Steinbeck. I read it again and I loved it again. Our doors were locked with a skeleton key.
Very quiet neighborhood. I guess everybody is at work during the day.
Another Bad Storm in Galveston
There was another horrible storm in Galveston a few years ago that destroyed a lot of beautiful, old trees.
