On the Equator in the Galápagos
I Love Boobies
Maureen bought a hat that said, “I love Boobies.” Sigh. Are we all at the maturity level of 13-year-old boys? She did see blue-footed boobies, though. And a high lite of the trip was standing on the equator outside of Quito.

They also saw many sea lions in the public square, lounging and sleeping on benches. They were told to stay at least 6 feet away from them. Why would you want to get any closer than that? I’m not crazy about sea lions. They’re fat and slimy and stupid-looking. They lie around all day. Their eyes are dull and filmy. Yuck. Sounds like an old boyfriend. I hear they can get quite aggressive too.

They do serve one important purpose, however. Their succulent corpulence and overall enormous bulk provide ravenous killer whales with a big, fat, juicy snack after a long, hard day at the office patrolling the seven seas in search of edible marine life. Go, Killers!
