Crematorium

It is 4:45 and the lady in the red coat has kindly asked us to leave.

I am standing at the second entrance to the crematorium. People could enter at both ends. Looking at this picture it almost, but not quite, looks like a place where you might stop off on a cold winter’s night and have a beer before continuing home.

Unknown Prisoner at Dachau

Directly in front of the crematorium is a statue of a person but I could not understand the German text. It turns out that the bronze statue is of a prisoner. He represents the unknown victim of the Holocaust. On the pedestal the inscription in English is: To Honor the Dead, to Warn the Living.
