Flora in Belovezhskaya Pushcha

Pushy Aliens from North America

Red oaks from North America were planted as ornamentals in the 1920s and 30s. These oaks spread so quickly they started to replace the Pushchino tree species; some as old as 600 years or more.

“Warm Smell of Boletus Rising up Through the Air…”

I found this mushroom outside the House of Cards. It is a Boletus reticulatus. I read that they are very tasty. I would like to know who was the first person in the world who came across this thing in the woods and put it in their mouth? Hmmm? That would’ve had to have been an extremely hungry human. Remember the Russian proverb, “Every mushroom is edible once”. So don’t go mushroom hunting without an expert by your side.
