Belarusian Farewell
We had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. the next day. Wuf. What is wrong with the travel industry? Why are we forced to catch ungodly early planes and trains? It’s unhealthy. How are we supposed to enjoy traveling if we have to suffer from sleep deprivation? They didn’t travel this way before planes and trains (and automobiles). If you rode a horse, or in a horse-drawn buggy, you set out at a civilized time and at a civilized pace.
A grim morning. But, after the initial grimness of waking up early and having our people arrive too early, we made it to the train station with lots of time to kill. However, the horror was prolonged when our people stood watching us from the platform while we sat in our sleeping car waiting for the train to leave. It was awkward.
