This was my original “about us” page:
Here are some stories about where we have been, what we did there, and what we thought of it. You might want to go to some of these places. Or, you might change your mind and not want to go. Either way, it’s fun to write about them, so read on! And if you ever see a nice-looking dog on the street (or even an ugly one, it doesn’t matter), don’t pass them by. Give ’em a friendly “Hey, buddy!” They appreciate that kind of stuff.
Then I researched this and realized that wasn’t good enough. I found out that this page is “essential and integral” to the website. I need to: be honest, stay humble, don’t ramble, connect emotionally, know who my readers are (I have no idea who you are), include a smiling image of myself (I used to be young and gorgeous, and am now old and hideous, you don’t wanna see that).
AND I have “8 seconds to sell myself before you disappear from my life forever”. Wuf. The pressure is overwhelming. Well, you want honesty? I honestly can’t do all that. If anybody wants to know “about us” all they have to do is read the blog. Sooner or later, they’ll find out all they need to know. Why load people down with stuff? That’s my motto from now on. Why load ’em down?
It’s not too slick though. I don’t even know why I continue to write this since you have all disappeared from my life forever by now. Okay, that’s it then. To those remaining, welcome to my blog, my unprofessional blog.
I had to add an image.
